My Story
The Start:
As long as I can remember I have loved architecture. As a young kid one of my favorite activities was going to open houses with my parents. In high school I participated in vocational drafting classes and even won first place in a local design competition. I was also fortunate enough to land a job with a local architect. These parts of my life reinforced my love for architecture leading me to pursue architecture as a career. In 1993 I received my Bachelors of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas Arlington. After graduation my wife and I moved to Valparaiso, Indiana, where I began working in an architectural firm practicing the skills I had learned. It was during this time that I designed and oversaw the construction of a client's second home along the coastline of Lake Michigan and connected with the builder who would become my business partner leading to my next phase of life.
Developing my skills:
In 1997 I co-founded Harvest Homes where I brought a classic style of architecture to a region that previously relied on bland, dated plans and styles. My inspiration drew from historic styles and details combined with floor plans designed for modern life. At Harvest Homes my role consisted of working with clients to achieve their home dreams: from plan development to exterior design to interior selections. It was our goal to provide our customer with a turn-key experience, and my role was to manage the project from start to finish.
During those 10 years I brought clients' ideas to life, resulting in the construction of 100's of homes, and my understanding of spatial design continued to mature. On top of the residential work, I oversaw the design and development of 4 neighborhoods totaling 190+ lots, which honed my abilities to work with local municipalities and governments through the approval processes. This was a great time in my life as I owned a company that brought people's dreams to life. Then, the great recession changed it all leading me down another path for a time.

A Pause:
From 2008 through 2022 I have been working for a family foundation as senior project manager overseeing granting and strategies for family based care in the developing world. This work has been deeply fulfilling and has impacted my life greatly as I have worked alongside of incredible people around the world.

Although I was not in full time design, I have enjoyed a number of side projects which have allowed me to stay current.
The Present:
I look forward to the opportunity to bring my skills to your project, offering creativity and spatial economy while keeping your budget in mind. I enjoy finding a good balance in the tension of form and function.
